On average, humans experience more than 6,000 thoughts per day. Among these, a significant portion consists of repetitive thought patterns. These recurring mental loops often reflect our mindset, beliefs, and emotional states. Consider this: 95% of our daily thoughts are repeated. These familiar mental pathways shape our perception of the world and influence our actions. In other words, our thoughts influence our feelings which influence our actions (think, feel, do). If a large majority of our thoughts are repeated, then we better get to know them! This worksheet helps with that. Take a moment to recognize four recurring thoughts or stories that frequently occupy your mind. Now, let’s transform them. For each negative thought, create a more constructive alternative. Write them down on the worksheet. As these thoughts resurface, consciously switch to the constructive versions you’ve crafted. Remember, repetition is key. Over time, this practice of cognitive reframing will help these positive narratives take root, dissolving the negative.
